The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh was established in 1887 for the purpose of providing INTEREST-FREE LOANS to residents of the greater Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area who:

  • Are unable to obtain a loan elsewhere
  • Have a genuine need
  • Have the ability to repay the loan in monthly installments
  • Can provide suitable guarantors

The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh provides 0% interest loans for a variety of needs, including:

  • Education/Job Training
  • Small Business
  • Medical/Dental
  • Home Repairs
  • Vehicle Repair/Purchase
  • Debt Consolidation
  • Legal Fees
  • Family Emergencies
  • Life Cycle Events

All applicants must appear in person. Appointments MUST be scheduled. Loan applications are reviewed every Tuesday from 7:00 - 8:30PM at the Hebrew Free Loan Association office located at 4315 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Call to schedule a confidential appointment: 412-422-8868.

The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh is non-sectarian and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Hebrew Free Loan Association is not affiliated with or funded by any other agency.

In 1887, five Pittsburgh Jewish businessmen got together to form the Hebrew Free Loan Association of PIttsburgh, to provide financial assistance to the local merchants and peddlers. By helping people to help themselves, the Hebrew Free Loan Association, now in its third century of operation, endeavors to assist those in need to achieve financial stability and independence.
